TRUE GRIT

For those who missed Brodi’s blog link, you may not have heard the news that cancer has been discovered in Dennis’ lungs.  This is a set-back…”kitten on the freeway” serious.  However, we are bloodied, but not bowed.

Dennis has already begun chemo treatments amid ports, wires, and The Clot talkin’ smack with fellow infuses over French fries – the real social network.  He is enduring all of the above with his usual stoic patience.

We will continue to keep vigil.  We will fight this battle with every ounce of our being.  There is no room for doubt or fear.

We so appreciate all the support, love, prayers, and positivity.  It means more than you know.

Dennis has true grit.  He will do this.

We will post regular up-dates.  But for now, we are counting our blessings as we watch the Jazz and pop anti-nausea pills.  We are OK.  Our love to all.

Okay folks I'm only a nurse, but the way the Jazz are playing right now I would need nausea pills too. I think you need something a little more positive in your life like maybe Shirley Temple or the Smurf's, well maybe even True Grit! Glad Dennis is tolerating all the girls, french fries cussing and of course the Chemo! Thoughts and prayers are with all of you! Chris

Dr. Ashton we were so sad when we heard that you were taking extended medical leave & were hoping it wasn't another battle with cancer. Please know that we are praying & rooting for you :) I hope you don't mind that I asked about you at the office & they gave me this blog addres. We would love to follow you & watch you kick this cancer thing again!! Love, Laura (& The whole Ayers gang)
